Credit Card 1:Paid Off

Remember in this post where I discussed my financial goals , well as a result, credit card number one now has a $0.00 balance. Ha! Feels good. I also put $300 towards credit card number 2 which now has a balance of $1307.52. As I mentioned in the aforementioned post, I am in no hurry to pay card number 2 off because I have a 0% interest rate on that card and I am using it to increase my credit score. Speaking of credit card usage, I stumbled upon this post posted over at cashmoneylife which discuss 10 reasons why credit cards are good. The number one reason he had posted was this:

1. Build credit history: Charging small amounts and paying them off is a great way to establish credit history. Without credit history, it can be more difficult to get loans (including good loans such as student loans or a mortgage), secure insurance, or even land a job. If you are able to secure a loan without any credit history, your loan rate may be higher as a result.
Now, once you've read the post (it is a bit long...think thesis HA!!) proceed a bit further and read the comments. There are several folk who disagree with the original poster reasonings. I happen to agree with his post. Actually, several of his given reasons I never took into consideration, such as the extended warranties and short term loans.
I am NOT advocating the use of credit cards as a tool to go ca-razay with. Nope never that. Not ever. I do think if used properly, it has benefits.

I hope the above link will prove to be beneficial to someone out here in blog land.

I have to get rid of them....

But I really dont want to!!! About two months ago, I went to D.C to celebrate my sisters wedding shower. Oh, we had a ball!! There was plenty of drinking and partying amongst the group of us who attended. Well, anyways, that particular weekend was tax-free shopping weekend. For those of you unfamiliar with this weekend, that's when retail stores have no tax on clothing and other school related items, up to $100 dollar per item. Yeah, for those of us who are childless, we too can benefit from this event **whoo-hoo** Anyways, I went to Nordies and purchased two cute pair of shoes. Here they are: http://content.nordstrom.com/ImageGallery/store/product/MediumLarge/17/_5316417.jpg and these http://content.nordstrom.com/ImageGallery/store/product/MediumLarge/9/_5438529.jpg . Well, what's the issue you ask? The issue is I have had these shoes for 2+ months and I have not worn them. Normally this wouldnt bother me in the least. Nope. Uh Uh. Not at all!! But I am on the path to better savings and building my net worth. So I am going to take those shoes back and have $100+ dollars added to my account. I will take that $100+ and put it in my ING account and watch my money grow. I also have a bag I purchased from Marshall's for $190. Yep, a bag from MARSHALL'S cost $190. It is an Ellen Tracey bag and it is nice. I bet you're wondering, 'Well, fabulous one, what's the problem?' The problem is I have had this bag since the MIDDLE of the summer and have YET to carry it!! I am taking that bag back to Marshall's and that $190 is also going into my ING account. I am working on my net worth people...one fabulous return at a time. Toodles!!!

Still waiting....

Yep, I'm still waiting for my sis to get her stuff together so I can start my home search. I am sooo impatient and wanna start this thing NOW dammit!! But, what can I do?!! Get another agent and be perceived as a selfish twit by my mom and siblings. Normally, I wouldnt care (too much), but I want my sis to make this money instead of someone else. I also think she and I will have a great time while out and about.

Did I tell you guys I am going to the Bahamas with my kickboxing buddies? Yep, I sure am and I cant wait to go!!! I'm gonna be one drunk slut puppy that weekend. I mean, I'm not gonna be a slut, but I will be DRUNK!! Is one really better than the other, hmmmm?

Yesterday, I spent 14 bucks at the grocery to celebrate my fave uncles b-day. It was worth the lost cash flow. I have lunch leftover from yesterday and breakfast from yesterday as well. So I wont spend a dime to eat today. I think I will eat more fish for dinner. Fish and french fries will be my dinner AGAIN tonight. Yummerz!!

The work day continues....

Um, this picture to the left has no significance in regards to this post, I just thought it was a pretty pic and well, since it's my blog, I can put whatever I want here. Ha!! Anywayz...

Well, it has been over a month since I created this blog and I have yet to add another entry. Um, I am a slacker. I guess this is why my first blog is somewhere lost in blog-land. Oh woe is me!!!

Anyways, my entire dept. is at a company meeting and since I am a contractor for this company, I dont have to attend. I did however, partake in the free breakfast they provided for their employees. I sho' did (**ding ding on the ebonics usage**) That free breakfast has saved me from a mundane breakfast consisting of Rice Krispies, blueberry muffin, and a banana my co-worker gave me (the banana was a lil' splotchy, but I was gon' cut it up in my cereal). I will eat the aforementioned for breakfast tomorrow, thus saving me more money.

Now, I am really trying to take control of my finances. I am not in bad shape by any means. But I know my financial situation could be a lot better if I stop spending. There are several blogs that I have been visiting and I will frequent these blogs on a daily or bi-weekly basis to get tips and a better understanding of finances in general. This is one of my favorites http://singlemomandmoney.blogspot.com/ Sista girl went from being a single mother on public assistance to a single mother in control of her life and finances. She has loads of great tips on her site. Give it go people.

I am trying to come up with a theme for my blog. I am leaning towards using this blog to montior my spending and watch my net worth grow. If anyone out there knows where I can find one of those net worth tables, send it my way. Thank Ya very kindly
