I woke early this morning and decided to wash, condition and set my hair. My hair was looking a mess this week. Meaning, I have been wearing it in a bun and jazzed it up with an adorable headband I purchased from GAP. I workout 5-6 times a week, so bunning works for me. I normally wash my hair twice a week. I would love to wash my hair more often than that but it just doesn't happen. For starters, I allow my hair to air dry and I think that would be overkill if I air dried more than twice a week. This is how I air dry: I pull hair back in a loose ponytail, wrap my head in a scarf, and allow it dry for the night. When I wake the next morning, the portion of my hair not in the ponytail is normally dry. The ponytail portion may be a tad bit damp. So I simply twist my ponytail around itself and secure it in place with one of these 'Maximus' hair clips I purchased from Nordies. I have this clip in both black and silver and I love them!! They keep my hair secure and never lose its grip. I am a kickboxing instructor, so when I am jumping and kicking and moving about, my hair always remain in place with one of these. I also use these clips to sport cute ponytails.
However, since the weather is changing and the temp is colder, I have opted to revert back to my tried and true flexi rod set. I love love love flexi rod sets. This style requires NO MAINTENANCE. Meaning, I wake in the morning, remove my satin bonnet, shake my head, and leave the house. This st lye can last anywhere between 1 and 2 weeks. It normally last 1 week for me simply because I know I can redo this style whenever I want. Which results in me getting a bit lazy in wearing my bonnet at night, thus causing the frizzies. This style look best when I am 2-4 months post relaxer (as I am now). This style is an absolute life saver.
