Festival of India

I attended a Festival Of India today.  It was great.  The music was nice, the food was goo, and I was in good company.  My daughter acted up and threw a couple tantrums because she couldn't get her way, but other than that, it was ok!  LOL!!!

I am still in the process of trying to get my 30 articles of clothing together for my 30 for 30 challenge.  Stay tuned...

My Mini Me started school!

This past Tuesday, September 13, my daughter began attending her first school.  Its an awesome child development center.  I trust the school and the employees there as my lil nephew went there and had a wonderful experience.  However, my heart broke when I dropped my Mini Me off for the first time and she clung to me for dear life.  Every day she would cry, and every day I would walk out those doors feeling like a horrible parent for allowing my child to endure the unknown.
What makes me get through it all, is the fact that she is always smiling when I arrive to pick her up.

Day 1 - She was sitting on the Directors lap as another teacher was reading a story.  Upon seeing me she ran in my direction smiling.  Then, out of nowhere, she began crying.  Yeah she is a lil dramatic.

Day 2 - She was outside in the play area just standing around.  Not doing much but raking everything in while the other children played.

Day 3 - She was outside in the play area.  But this time she was actually playing and enjoying herself.  She was running around until she got a glimpse of me.  I think children have an automatic sensor that informs them of their parents presence.  I wanted to see how she engage in play with the other students.

Day 4 - She was in class standing near her teacher while the other students were sitting on a rug.

I am getting better with leaving her at school.  It still triggers a ping of hurt knowing she doesnt want to be there.  However, as I mentioned earlier, her smiling face upon my entrance into her classroom makes it all worthwhile.

My daughter...

Mothers Day 2010; 13 months
is really growing.  We are up late tonight.  Its 12:41 am!  I asked her to get me a juice and she said its heavy, as earlier tonight SHE wanted a juice and was unable to pick the 8 pack up.  Anyway, she replied 'Ok'.  Then she had a thought and said ' I have to use the potty then I will get your juice'.  Of course she said this in her 2.5 year old voice but she speaks very well for her age.  Her vocabulary is really expanding and she is able to express herself rather well.

She starts school next week.  I have a mix of emotions about that.  She is fully potty trained and communicative, yet I want her to remain with me.  She on the other hand WANTS to go tot school.  I am constantly reminded whenever we see a school bus in our path.  Ive had to break the earth shattering news that she will not ride a school bus and that Mommy will be her provided transportation. LOL.  Im not sure of her thoughts on that matter as of yet.  I love that lil one with everything I am!
